this is really sickening...we had flag day todae... and we went to orchard to carry out this duty...we spreaded ourselves to various places like cineleisure, harbourfront, chinatown...at first i thought that this would be so so fun... but i was very very wrong...it was the worst day ever...now i understand why when i saw someone carrying this tin plus stickereveryone will walk away from them... because i was one of them too...doing this flag day thing .. you have to be thick skin .. u have to bring the tin to their faces and say ' hi, do u want to donate? 'some ppl will donate but some will just walk away...for my case i wasnt too initiative.. cause i was thinking it is the ppl's willingness to donate... so i kept quiet all the time... even though i asked a few .... that was in harbourfrontwhen i was in harbourfront, i asked alot of ppl, so half of the tin is filled by the ppl frm harbourfront... the rest is by the ppl from taka...when i was infront of taka... there's alot of ppl....but none want to donate it to me....[sad]but i will always remember this one couple... their age is almost like mine...
they gave me this $2 note.. and in the end they said.. ' flag day sucks'
yes thank u very much ... i know it too.... it reallys sucks standing there whole day long without anyone donating to u ...
there's this girl gave me this 10cents ... and when i said thank you.. she said.. ' i know it's very tiring' another thank u very much...
indeed whatever they is what im thinking...how i wish that i just can get out of the place and never come backs...i have to smile all day and say thank you everytime they donated...it was sick that ppl stares at your tins thinking if they shld donate anot...another just acted that they reach into their pocket and trys to dig out some money...so fake sia...it is a really typical singaporeans act... nobody will want to part their money unless u come up to them and asked... so as i said this sort of experience once is enough... we have to brave the sun and the rain ... plus the stares ....u shld try flag day yourself and u will understand.u may feel cool to do flag day... and u may not think so...it depends...but it is a experience for u try it
p.s : didn mean to snatch debbie and fellow friends' 'customers' cause muihoon and i simply couldnt find any better places to carry out the duties as we all can see the bridge has the most ppl walking around! hehe.. sorry sorry .... PLS forgive us!! hey and mind u .. u all have the heavier tins than ours.... dun argue hor... :)
